We lost Daniel, January 1, 1997, at age 22. He and his
friend Colby, drowned in Devil's Lake near the Oregon Coast.
the lake was so stormy and their canoe overturned. They
had been moving Colby from his residence to his Mother's
home and apparently decided to visit friends across the
lake in the canoe. They both wore heavy clothing and
boots, but the water was just too cold. We were all
devastated.....

Daniel enjoyed skate boarding, dancing and listening
to a variety of music. He was a Piaute-Chippewa Native
American and was very active in the Oregon Native
Youth Council of Siletz. He enjoyed working with the
youths in the youth council. Daniel was working for his
Vision Quest to find his native spirit. He also enjoyed
participating in the Pow Pows. He was given a full native
American Service and was buried at the Siletz Indian
Burial Grounds.

Daniel was a kind, giving, loving and wonderful
young man a beautiful smile. He was engaged to Luhui
and they had planned to be married in the near future.
He had three brothers, Brian, Brett and Delbert, three
sisters, Jody, Sandy and Renee, his parents John and
Ellen, 2 sets of grandparents, one great grandfather,-
one great grandmother, several aunts, uncles, cousins
and many friends.

Preceding him in death is his Aunt Tricia. Daniel
loved his family and his family all love and miss Daniel
so very much........
